Sawyer
has been saving his money for several years to buy something special
(no easy feat when you don’t receive an allowance!), and today he was
calculating how much he had accrued thus far:
Sawyer: “So, I have the money you’re storing for me, and then I’ve got a bunch of money in my room.”
Me: “Where did you get a bunch of money?”
Sawyer: “Oh, you know, money I find on the floor . . . oh, and in my backpack. That’s where the big money is.”
Me: “And by ‘big money’ you mean . . . .”
Sawyer: “You know, quarters, dimes . . . BIG money.”
Suddenly, the idea of giving him an allowance sounds a lot more affordable!
