Last
night after praying with Peyton and Sawyer and kissing them goodnight, I
was almost to the stairs when I overheard the following exchange:
Sawyer: "Wait--what is today? October 6?"
Peyton: "Yes, tonight's your night."
Sawyer: "Yes!"
Intrigued, I walked back and poked my head in the room.
Me: "Your night to do what?"
Turns out Sawyer likes to sleep with the door closed but Peyton wants
the door open. Rather than argue about it nightly, they compromise so
that the door is left open on "odd" nights and closed on "even" nights.
Yay for my twelve- and eight-year-olds problem-solving with no parental
intervention!!
