A Day in the Life

1. Rose at 6:50 a.m., showered and dressed
2. Helped the girls choose dresses; made sure Tyler remembered we had somewhere to be today (he was reading and often lets the time get away from him)
3. Flat-ironed the girls' hair (they shower at night and their tresses often need intensive care to relieve the "bed-head" look)
4. Got Sawyer dressed (yes, he's perfectly capable of dressing himself--I just like to do it, okay? So sue me!)
5. Made Sawyer's breakfast (see note on #4)
6. Wrote out check for contribution; passed it off to Randy
7. Ate a bowl of peaches 'n cream oatmeal
8. Drove to church
9. Time for praise and worship!
10. Bible class
11. Out to lunch with a total of four adults and ten kids (L swore she saw other restaurant patrons roll their eyes when we walked in the door)
12. Back to church building for LTC chorus and puppet practice
13. Home for--no joke--20 minutes
14. Back to church building for OAG (that's One Another Groups for the uninitiated)
15. Our group elected not to go out, which was actually preferable to me since I had been home for a grand total of 20 minutes since 9:00 a.m.
16. Still needed to eat, so drove to Long John Silver's in the pouring rain and gusting wind; planned to drive through but couldn't roll down the window without getting a face-ful of rain so decided to eat in
17. Cautioned Sawyer to "watch the puddle"
18. Dried Sawyer's feet off after he plowed into the puddle
19. Ate our fill of deep-fried fish fillets and chicken planks
20. Home--for good. Finally!
21. Shooed Darcy into the shower
22. Helped Sawyer get ready for bed (see note on #4)
23. Reminded Tyler to take his meds
24. Signed Peyton's citizenship record for tomorrow
25. Gave Peyton her reading log to take to school (to indicate that she'd read at least 250 pages this month)
26. Maneuvered Peyton into the shower, told Darcy she could read Sawyer one more story
27. Crashed on Tyler's bed and talked to him
28. Prayed with Tyler
29. Prayed with the girls; assured Tyler I would put a library book on hold for him and sent him back to bed
30. Watched Randy and Sawyer imitate episode of WWF Smackdown (seriously, I have no idea if there is a show called WWF Smackdown--I think I just made that up)
31. Raked toys off Sawyer's bed into bucket; prayed with Sawyer
32. Made a phone call
33. Let Tyler look at the weather hour-by-hour so he'd know he didn't need to start fretting about a possible tornado until about 11 p.m., then sent him back to bed
34. Posted blog entry
35. Unplugged computer equipment with the assumption that the strong storms that have been forecast have the potential for zapping our modem, and hoped to be back online in the morning

Happy Sunday to all, and to all a good night!

Sounds like a great way to spend the Lord's day--"Redeeming the time".
