What NOT to Say

From the Texas Rangers News: "The Rangers blew a seven-run lead, their pitchers gave up 10 runs on 15 hits, their closer blew a save and their defense committed five errors."


So why are these guys celebrating? Because THE RANGERS WON!!! Thank you, Phil and Terri! We couldn't have picked a better night to go to the ballpark, and we had a blast! My throat is hoarse from screaming so much--even here at noon I sound like I just rolled out of bed!


Randy told Darcy about the "Best Sign" contest and told her she should enter--about fifteen minutes before we left for Ranger Stadium. Perhaps not the best masterpiece she's ever created, but she had fun doing it anyway! Needless to say, her sign wasn't chosen as the winner.





Everybody's happy while the Rangers build a 7-0 lead!


Watching the Mariners rally and come from behind to take the lead--blast you, Ramon Vazquez! Three errors--hello?? How much do you get paid??!


There's still hope. Come on, Vazquez, redeem yourself!


Here's the pitch, and . . .


He blasts it to center field! Ramon Vazquez, you're the hero! (Until you opened your mouth, that is.)

We hung around to listen to the post-game interview with Vazquez and it was a good feeling to celebrate with him when he had played such a big part in helping the Mariners to wrestle the lead from the Rangers in the first place. But when the interviewer asked him how it felt to be the hero after struggling throughout the game, Vazquez said (and this is a rough quote), "For all you fans who booed me, TAKE THAT!"

Something tells me Ramon Vazquez is not a graduate of How to Win Friends and Influence People. But maybe it's just me.
